Professor Puzzle’s journey began with a chance encounter in a distant corner of the world. Fascinated by ancient metal puzzles sold by a street vendor in Calcutta, a deal was struck, and the art of puzzle-making began.

Returning to London, the business launched as “Ben’s Baffling Brainbenders,” crafting puzzles by day and selling them at bustling markets in Covent Garden and Camden by night. The captivating metal challenges drew growing crowds eager to test their wits, and it quickly became clear that the humble market stalls could no longer meet demand.

Driven by a vision to share the joy of puzzling on a larger scale, formal manufacturing began in 2002, and Professor Puzzle Ltd was officially born. Starting with handmade metal puzzles in a UK workshop and later expanding to wooden puzzles produced in the Far East, the company steadily grew to become the world’s leading supplier of puzzles.
